PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

A fully networked internal computer system that includes three computer labs, a multi media center, and computers / SMARTboards
in all vocational and academic classroom settings. Internet access is available to faculty and students throughout the building.
Mercy Vocational is the most technology-able high school in the Philadelphia archdiocese.
A highly successful Cooperative Education program that places 12th students in paid training related positions.
Many of these positions lead to full time employment opportunities upon graduation.
A growing number of graduates continuing their education on a full time basis, many of them as scholarship recipients.
Mercy Vocational was recognized for three consecutive years as #1 in the State of Pennsylvania for the number of
students receiving vocational education post-secondary scholarships.
A varied activities program including yearbook, music, student council, and honors society. Our Community Service Corps
has been recognized as the outstanding service organization in the State of Pennsylvania.
A competitive athletic program that fields varsity teams in six boys’ sports and five girls’ sports. Our boy’s Varsity
and J.V. basketball teams both won the Tn County League Championship in 2007; our girl’s softball team won the Tri-County
League Championship in 2007; our boy’s baseball team was the 2003, 2004, and 2005 Penn Jersey League Champions; our boy’s
cross country team was the 2002 Penn Jersey League Champions; our boy’s basketball team was the 2002 Tn County League
Champions; our girl’s softball team was the 2001 Penn Jersey League Champions.
A tuition and fee structure comparable to the Archdiocesan high schools. Student base tuition is for the 2009 — 2010
school year is $5,000. Multiple payment plans are available including monthly.
A growing tuition assistance program providing almost $600,000 in total grants to families for 2009 — 2010. Charles E. Ellis
Grants are still available to MVHS girls in grades 9 through 12. Ellis grants are $4,600 per girl for the 2009 - 2010 school year.
Easily accessible by public transportation from all areas of the city. Septa routes 1, 32, 48, 60, and R all stop at the door
of Mercy Vocational High School.
Private transportation service is available at an additional cost from most areas of the city.
