Computer Technology

The Computer Technology Program is designed to provide students with a foundation for continuing their education or applying for entry-level employment in computer technology and web design.

During sophomore year students prepare for the CompTIA Strata IT Fundamentals certification. This certification ensures knowledge of PC components, functionality, compatibility, software installation, hardware installation, security topics, and preventive maintenance. Earning a Strata IT Fundamentals certification can be a stepping stone to higher certifications in CompTIA.

In the junior year, students are introduced to web design. The students learn about website development, photo editing, web design languages such as html and web authoring tools. Best practices and the latest web technologies are also taught.  By the end of this course, students are prepared to take the CIW Web Design Specialist certification.
